July 2005 Highlights

July 2005 Program Spotlight: Community Support
The Community Support Programs of the Center for Mental Health Services work with States, communities, and mental health consumers and their families to provide people with mental illnesses with treatment and assistance in meeting basic needs such as housing, jobs, education, social services, transportation, and medical and nursing care. The Community Support programs are designed to bridge the gap between "knowledge" and “application” by identifying effective approaches to the delivery of mental health services and putting those approaches into action in local communities.

National Therapeutic Recreation Week - July 10-16, 2005
National Therapeutic Recreation Week is an annual observance that promotes awareness of the benefits of therapeutic recreation programs and services. This special day celebrates the efforts of parents and encourages all Americans to show appreciation for their parents, who may be biological, adoptive, foster, or stepparents
